A Research of Urban Redevelopment with the Renovation of Waterfront Area-through a Design Study of the Hakata Harbor-front District in Fukuoka, Japan

摘要

This paper is based on a city planning proposal in a competition of Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture-sponsored conference.The title named "The landscape which connects local culture —The method and proposal of a landscape design of Fukuoka and Hakata for the sustainable development of 50 years after—".The purpose of this paper is to present the environmental regeneration which opens a city to the sea by using of histories and resources, and utilizing them as local property.Though urban design and landscape design waterfront area in Hakata could be a leading example of restored harbor.
