A subaperture decomposition algorithm to distinguish the urban area with buildings of large azimuth angles from vegetation was studied. The study area was San Francisco, CA, USA. The PolSAR datasets of Chinese GAOFEN- 3, Canadian RADARSAT-2, and Japanese ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 were analyzed. Buildings of large azimuth angles in an urban area and vegetation or non-urban targets have been successfully delineated using the difference between two subaperture T33 images.
