In order to improve the accuracy of partial discharge location and the performance of partial discharge mechanism analysis, a new hybrid partial discharge location method based on ultrasonic and UHF is designed. Taking 750kV GIS equipment as an example, this method is used to locate and calculate the discharge point position. The research results show that this method can effectively determine the abnormal partial discharge position. Through the mechanism analysis of the causes of abnormal discharge, the effective preventive measures and suggestions are put forward.
