Energy efficiency improvement in public sector based on analysis of public buildings energy consumption in municipality bac

In recent years, public buildings energy consumption has become increasingly prominent in the total buildings energy consumption: public buildings area accounts for about 30% of the total urban building area, while the energy consumption accounts for 40% in 2015. High energy consumption, low energy efficiency, bad heating system, poor operation and management are common in the public buildings. In this paper, the authors analyze present situations and problems of energy consumption of existed buildings in Serbia. The brief review of public documents and laws for introducing energy efficiency in existing public buildings will be given. By analyzing the public buildings in municipality Bac, it will be discussed about the approach to promote energy efficiency of existed buildings on this example, the buildings will be divided in categories and analyzed. Lastly, authors discuss the additional relative measures and provide some advices. The goal is to promote the energy efficiency of existed public buildings, and accelerate the execution of building energy efficiency strategy and realization of sustainable development in Serbia.
