A good understanding of the relationships between grassland pests and terrain gradient is essential for grassland management. To explore the difference of prosodes dilaticollis motsch hazards on terrain gradient and to reveal different effects in different geomorphological parts of prosodes dilaticollis motsch disaster, in this paper, we used the data from the chinese ZY1-02C satellite P/MS remote sensing, with the support of the spatial analysis function in ArcGIS, prosodes dilaticollis motsch outbreak information from image interpretation based on RS and GIS technology was overlapped with elevation, slop and aspect types which derived from digital elevation model (DEM) respectively, the terrain gradient distribution of prosodes dilaticollis motsch disasters in the study area were obtained and analyzed. The results showed that in the elevation and slope gradient, the prosodes dilaticollis motsch hazards mainly concentrated in the lower grades terrain, while in the aspect gradient the hazards distributed most both in the lower and higher grades terrain distribution more, less in the middle grades terrain.
