The nested array was firstly introduced to perform array processing with increased degrees of freedom using much fewer physical sensors In this paper, we apply nested array to antenna deployment in massive MIMO, which can tremendously reduce the number of antennas, and achieve the same performance. Besides, this deployment for massive MIMO has also spectrum efficiency. As a case study, we demonstrate that real-world LTE/LTE-A mobile service data traffic is quite fluctuating, and adaptive bandwidth allocation should be performed to increase spectrum efficiency.
