Aerospace research and development requires a large amount of funding. Long term investment must be sustained regardless of short-term output. Besides realizing political and military goals in the long run, aerospace activity should also achieve economic benefits. Only in this way, aerospace activity will solidify itself as a continuous endogenous asset crucial to national technology development. Advancements in commercial aerospace in conjunction with government-funded aerospace innovations are therefore a basic tendency of global aerospace industry development.
