THE KAGUYA (SELENE) MISSION AND ITS LUNAR SCIENCE

Since successful launch and insertion into lunar orbit of Kaguya spacecrafts in last September, it has been passed a year of nominal observation term. Most of bus and mission instruments are very healthy so that about ten Mega-bps science data are down linked to JAXA DSN station. Data sent to SELENE Operation and Analysis Center SOAC are depacketted and sorted to each science and instrument teams. In this term the teams have calibrated and analyzed their data to study each lunar science. Some new insights and discovery obtained in observation have been already reported by each instrument in imagery, spectrograph, gravimetric, altimetry, and lunar environment study.
