Large Core 'Uni-mode' Photonic Bandgap Fiber Compatible with Standard Single Mode Fiber

摘要

A photonic bandgap fiber supporting only one propagation mode with a core area compatible with standard single mode fiber is investigated. By careful tuning of the lattice constant the fiber will support only the LP01- or LP11-like mode.
