The accuracy of the maps is measured by the field measurment in the field, by all means necessary to characterize the bondaries and delineation using cross section. The study is aimed to analize the consequences to adopted the soil surveys maps to use for peat land mapping in recconnaissance scales. The recent field survey area indicated by the GPS were plotted to ensure the characterized unit from the spatial analysis. The spatial analysis using the field survey results and remote sensing techniques of land unit deleineation. The method of delineation (basiccally landscape analysis) were proved gave a better understanding of the peat distribution. The peat land delineation which were made according to the land system is less accurate than the peat land delineation derived from the recconannaissance soil surveys maps. Thesevere observation points were used to test the delineation, where the results show in distances and acreages/coverages analysis. The scaling up of peat land mapping can use the additional information such as semi detailed maps, and recent observation. The semi detailed peat land maps brought more clear and accurate delineation.
