Ecological footprints approach conducted to assess the development of geothermal gased district in the Blawan Ijen, Bondowoso, East Java, this approach is an attempt to mitigate the potential negative impacts of disasters and the enviroenment by decreasing the carrying capacity of the environment caused by the development of geothermal power plants operating in the region. Development of geothermal areas will automatically acquire existing land use such as agricultural land, plantation or forest to be a development area of geothermal power plants. On the ecological footprint approach used satellite data and DEM dan provide guidance based regional development of geothermal power plants.
