Japan's Activities for Asia-RiCE and Japanese Earth Observation Satellites

In this paper, we introduce Japan's activities for Asia-Rice Crop Monitoring & Estimation (Asia-RiCE), which is a component of GEO Global Agricultural Monitoring (GEOGLAM). The aim GEOGLAM is to enhance our ability to monitor rice crop and provide outlook for rice production by using remote sensing technology. In addition, we introduce Japanese Earth Observation (EO) satellites including ALOS-2, GCOM-W1/C1 and GPM DPR, these satellites must be great tools to stimulate Asia-RiCE activities.
