Magnetically responsive hydrogels for optimizing anticancer therapeutic delivery profiles

We have demonstrated that pulsatile mitoxantrone delivery profiles enhance mitoxantrone's anticancer toxicity to melanoma cells and that ferrogels can be used to reproduce these pulsatile deliveries. We have also shown that for sequenced anticancer therapeutic strategies that the particular sequence used can impact anticancer effect. Compartmentalized ferrogels may be a useful tool for remotely controlling different sequences of anticancer therapeutics by enabling independently triggered release of multiple therapeutic pay loads.
