Conclusions: The study revealed that a 7.5% w/v concentration of gelatin creates continuous, mechanically stable nanofibers of biological origin. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that fungal growth, contamination, infection, and puss formation were avoided even in the absence of antibiotics. Electrospun gelatin nanofibers were shown to be biocompatible therefore, addition of miRNA or growth factor can be added for use in delivery system for bone regeneration.
