Conclusions: Our data show that semaphorin signaling is active during peri-implant osteogenesis and sensitive to surface structure. Furthermore, its regulation of OCs is dependent on topography, proteins, and is not significantly regulated by TGF-β1. The regulation of bone modelling by Ti surface topography and hydrophilicity is mediated, at least partially, by semaphorins.
