Security risks of wireless sensor networks have attracted increasing concerns in recent years. In this paper, we consider an attacker with limited power who injects random false data into the transmitted data on the communication links so as to maximize the network estimation error. First, an optimal estimator is obtained by minimizing the mean-squared estimation error of each sensor under attacks. Then, a sufficient condition is provided to guarantee the stability of the proposed estimator. Finally, a set of optimal attacking sequences are obtained to maximize the network estimation error. Numerical examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the optimal attacking sequences.
