The parameter estimation and adaptive excitation control problem is investigated in this paper to tackle the damping parameter uncertain. First, by regarding the high order dynamic terms as disturbance, an uncertain nonlinear power system model is established. Then, during the construction of parameter estimation system, we add a compensation term to design error system independently and adjust the convergence speed and guarantee the uniformly stable of the parameter error system. Finally, an adaptive excitation controller is proposed via nonlinear damping injection. The asymptotical stability of the closed loop system is analyzed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed parameter estimator and excitation control scheme.
