摘要

In this paper, the morphological characteristics of fire – branches number are studied. An image algorithm for calculating the number of flame branches is proposed and a method is design to evaluate the algorithm. Through this algorithm, fuel fire, paper fire and car lights are analyzed in both time domain and frequency domain. According to the results, the number of the fire branches changes slowly, and the frequency is almost all under 1Hz. The branches numbers of the car lights image are constant, so the method can be used to distinguish the fire from the car lights through image.
