TERRASTAR is an independent GNSS global precisepositioning service provider. TERRASTAR providesGNSS product manufacturers with the opportunityto offer precise positioning solutions as part of theirproduct range, without the need for supporting theunderlying data processing and transmissioninfrastructure. TERRASTAR compatible products arenow available on the market.The TERRASTAR services are widely applicable byprofessionals in key areas of the land positioningindustry - including agriculture and forestry, surveyand construction, mining, aerial survey, and land oiland gas exploration and production.This paper describes the TERRASTAR redundant anddiverse network infrastructure, examining thereference station network, correction generationand service delivery to the end users viageostationary satellites or over the internet. At thecore of the system is an orbit and clockdetermination system. A global network of stationsis used to determine the corrections for the GPS andGLONASS satellite orbit & clocks, as well asgenerating pseudo range corrections for traditionaldifferential GNSS augmentation.At present TERRASTAR offers two commercialaugmentation services which are described in detailin this paper. The TERRASTAR-M service is adifferential GNSS service delivering Metre levelaccuracy, while the TERRASTAR-D service is based onthe precise point positioning technique deliveringDecimetre level accuracy. Both services provide GPSand GLONASS augmentation data, allowing landbased users to benefit from all satellites in view in awide range of application environments.A unique and integral part of the infrastructure is therecent development of our e-commerce system that provides users direct control over a wide range ofsubscription options as well as other functions suchas automatic invoicing. Such a system provides easeof use and is accessible 24/7. This system thereforeis a key element of the TERRASTAR service providingglobal users of a wide flexible range of applicationswith continuous access to the services.TERRASTAR works in close cooperation with GNSSmanufacturers, to maximise the combined service &product benefits. Further down the value chain,reseller agreements are established for thedistribution of the services to the end user.
