Hydrate fraction was investigated at different MEG concentration by measuring hydrate onset time and gas consumption rate during hydrate formation. It is confirmed that the hydrate onset time becomes longer and hydrate fraction is reduced significantly at the MEG concentration of 30.0 wt% MEG. The hydrate fraction in 30.0 wt% MEG solution was 0.08, which is less than the hydrate fraction of 0.38 when forming hydrates in pure water. ~(13)C NMR spectra of hydrates formed in the presence of MEG indicate structure II is formed from pure water and MEG solution.
