Strain Ageing of High-Strength Steels in the Northern Area and the Associated Technical Challenges in Development of High-Strength Steel Pipeline Technologies

摘要

In this work, the states-of-the-art of the high-strength steel pipelinesand their development in North America and the global range areintroduced. Moreover, the technical challenges associated with thehigh-strength line pipe steels, i.e., strain ageing and hydrogen-inducedcracking (HIC), are discussed and reviewed based on the author’srecent research accomplishments in this area. Emphasis was placed onanalysis of this technical difficulty and the implications on theperspective of the high-strength steel pipeline technology.
