A rational approach is developed to verify the global strength of thethree-dimensional T-Shaped launch barge when launching 31,375Temega jacket larger than her nominal launch capacity of 30,000Te. It iscritical to check the strength of the barge hull at each step, i.e., atintervals of 0.5 seconds, during the entire launch phase from the initialbreakout of jacket sliding until the final separation from rocker arms,thus ensuring the integrity of the barge hull and the jacket duringlaunch. Hydrodynamic pressures and inertial loads acting on the bargehull have been generated by various CFD and FEA tools.
