Proposal and Trial of Feasible On-site ICT for Promotion of Stop-by Round Trips in Sightseeing Areas

Tourist information centers provide very helpful mobility information for town strangers; however, little progress has been made toward ICT introduction that would enable improvements in the information services at these centers with clear intention of utilizing the data on visitors for tourism marketing. Through the analysis of services at a tourist information center in the sightseeing areas around traffic nodes with large-scale tourist facilities, this paper proposes an appropriate tourism ICT tool for effective on-site promotion of stop-by round trips, expected to result in the stimulation of local economies. The effectiveness of the tourism ICT tool has also been verified in this paper through a simple on-site experiment.
