Cost-effective ETC System using ID Tag

摘要

While many countries have introduced ETC (Electronics Toll Collection) system for reducing the cost of toll collection system, improving service time and environmental burden, some countries that have not yet introduced ETC system accelerate the introduction of this system actively. In each country, communication method for ETC system is different, for example passive DSRC and active DSRC etc. Some countries need not only the high performance but also cost-effective, variety of installation, easy maintenance etc. At this situation, we developed "ETC system using ID Tag" at a 900MHz frequency band that complied with these requests. And we evaluated the performance of our ID Tag based ETC system at actual road in Asia. As the result, the performance of our system was as high as the other. This paper reports the characteristic of this system and evaluation at actual road.
