A Jet A fuel surrogate model and its combustion kinetics were proposed and validated against the measured auto-ignition delays and flame speeds of real Jet A fuel. An OPOC engine based on the DISI concept was proposed for the light aircrafts applications. CFD studies of the concept are described as well as used to validate the system model. OPOC engine performance under various operating conditions was evaluated via 3D CFD simulation coupled with the Jet A surrogate combustion mechanism. It was observed the OPOC DISI engine presented a better scavenging process and less soot emission than conventional 2-stroke engines.
