It has become increasingly significant to be able to monitor environmental parameters in order to reach the best decision possible in a given situation. This can prove true especially for agriculture (for example in agriculture, for better water management). Another important concept is that of energy saving, and of using solar energy respectively. Photovoltaic panels convert solar radiation into electricity that can be then stored in batteries (for example, Lead-Acid, NiMH, Li-Ion). Thus they can be used to supply an autonomous module in a difficult to reach location, where it is challenging to use another energy source. The photovoltaic panel will charge a battery during the day while also providing the energy needed to operate the circuit; at nighttime the circuit is powered by the charged battery. Our project is based on these important concepts and contains a module for transmitting data gathered from different sensors powered by a battery and a second module having the role of receiving data and displaying them both on a liquid crystal display, and on a simple computer or laptop. In the following, block diagrams, implementation and testing of the entire system will be presented.
