Field performance of septum and kicker magnets for the TPS booster ring

Pulsed magnets including septum magnets and kicker magnets of type in vacuum serve to inject and to extract the electron beams for the booster ring in Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), which is a third-generation synchrotron accelerator. The design of the magnetic fields of the kicker and septum was simulated with OPERA 2D and 3D models. To verify the quality of the magnetic field and the distribution of the leakage field, the magnetic fields were measured with a long-coil system and a search-coil system. We present the characteristics of the magnetic fields of the pulsed magnets and the field-shielding performance for the septum magnets. The injection and extraction efficiency are significantly influenced by the performance of the pulse system. This system constructed in house was implemented with a short pulse at large voltage and large current. The improvements of the pulsed power supply are described to obtain highly stable and precise requirements. We report here also the field performance of the pulsed magnet for the booster.
