摘要

The site-specific analysis was extremely important in identifying the presence of flow failure for this site located on Harbor Island. The embedment of the sheet piles and tiebacks should extend beyond the flow failure zones. The FLAC deformation-based analysis was useful in optimizing the design, leading to reduction in overall sheet pile lengths, section and tieback sizes when compared with results obtained from more conventional methods. The constructability challenges and operational constraints for sites similar to this project are significant drivers in selection of the wall alternative.
