In this work a new Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor system for gas hydrogen detection is presented, basis on one of the robust FBG type, which is Inverted Chirped FBG using Pd (palladium) coating technique (500 nm) as hydrogen sensitive film. This sensor is used as disaster environment prevention in hydrogen leakage environment where higher values than the normal are presented increase the risk of explosion. With this system, 0.1–4% of hydrogen volume concentration range in volume ratio is detected and monitored experimentally in test room with very sensitive and stable value which reach 60pm/1% H2. In addition a fast response time, about 9s, is guarantee with the proposed sensor.
