In this paper, an intelligent approach for the diagnosis of Maize diseases is proposed which is capable of working over smartphone devices. The system is capable enough to communicate with the farmers in Egypt in the Arabic language and assist them in diagnosing Maize diseases. We have developed it to support farmers in protecting their crop. On this basis, the system provides suggestions on which disorders may affect the crops. This system uses a rule-based classifier technique to provide suggestions to farmers, and its inference method utilizes the uniqueness of the rule conditions. The classifier is constructed based on expert’s inputs. The output of the diagnosis process will be suspected diseases list and confirmed diseases list. The content of the confirmed diseases list is changed according to the additional information added to the system by the end-user.
