When the coupling is strong and the compensation matrix is complicated, in order to simplify the compensation matrix, Gramian method is applied firstly. Secondly according to the compensation theory a generalized predictive control(GPC) algorithm based on similar-feed-forward compensation for the 3×3 system is discussed. Finally, the method was applied to a 1000MW ultra-supercritical(USC) boiler-turbine unit, and compared with conventional PID controller, GPC controller has better control performance. Simulation results show that GPC method can achieve smaller overshoot and shorter regulation time; furthermore it has a simpler structure and is easier to implement and tune.
