Training on Manned Ship Models, a Way to Improve the Marine Education

摘要

The competencies demanded by the marine industry must be reflected in the education. This must be done through continuously updating the courses offered at the universities. The present work proposes upgrading of ship handling course by using ship manned models. Already used for specialization in few marine training centers, this educational tool can be adopted by marine universities. Using of manned models allows a close connection between different courses theory and ship manoeuvrability, developing in the same time practical ship handling abilities of the students.
