Water masses, mixing and the export of dissolved organic carbon from the Irish Sea

Optical measurements of coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM) are used as a tracer for water masses in a coastal water body. Three water masses are identified in the Irish Sea and mixing between them can be quantified. It is also possible to estimate fluxes of dissolved carbon.
