Space-time anti-jamming technology has become one of the core technologies of navigation because of its high degree of freedom and its ability to suppress multiple types of interference. But the high dimension of STAP leads to an increase in computation. The LMS algorithm is applied to STAP to reduce the amount of calculation by avoiding matrix inversion. However, the convergence effect of the LMS algorithm is susceptible to the expansion of the eigenvalues of the sampled data covariance matrix. In order to improve the above problems, a variable step size affine projection algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm makes the next weight vector as close as possible to the current weight vector by repeatedly using the data received by the space-time array, while the variable step size method is used to reduce the steady-state error of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm has similar steady-state error compared with LMS, but accelerates the convergence speed. Simulation results are presented to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
