Computed Tomography scan is a method applied to examine the anatomy of a human body. A CT scan is also used as an alternative way to detect cancer. However due to the utilization of X-Rays, organs being examined are considered to be at risk of radiation effect. The purpose of this research is to measure absorbed radiation dose to meet the requirements of radiation protection on patients. A solid humanoid phantom was used to simulate the patient body. For the dose measurement, a lithium fluoride thermoluminescent dosemeters (TLD-100) were mounted within the head and neck area of the phantom. This research is also aimed to make the commonly used scanning protocol within a hospital to its full potential. This is done by comparing the radiation dose between different scanning protocols to find the smallest radiation exposure. It can be concluded that, the thicker the slice, the lower the exposed radiation dose will be.
