IEEE 802.15.4 standard is one of the best choice for implementation of wireless sensor network. Because it provides low power, low cost and flexible wireless sensor network. In recent years because of evolution in technology most of the wireless sensor networks works in unlicensed 2.4 GHZ Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band, which creates interference between technologies like Wi-Fi and IEEE 802.15.4 WSN (Enhancement to the 802.15.4 standard is ZigBee). Wi-Fi has higher transmission power than IEEE 802.15.4 WSN (wireless sensor network), that's why effect of Wi-Fi interference is more on IEEE 802.15.4 WSN which has comparatively low transmission power. Within this work we performed the sets of experiments to detect interference with the help of IEEE 802.15.4 WSN's hardware kit which contains coordinator (receiver) and wireless sensor nodes (transmitter). We also developed an algorithm to control the effect of Wi-Fi interference on IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor network.
