A non-data aided adaptive search based precise and least-complexity frequency domain CD estimation algorithm is presented. The algorithm is designed for blind CD estimation in a two-step process. 112 Gb/s PDM-QPSK and 224 Gb/s PDM-16-QAM systems are simulated in order to evaluate the performance of our proposed CD estimation algorithm at 40 psm resolution. Compared to other recent work, complexity is considerably reduced. The resilience of our proposed technique is also tested against PMD.
