Energy-Efficiency Requirements in WDM Transport

摘要

This paper describes the rationale behind, and ways towards, improvements of the energy efficiency of WDM transport networks. Energy-efficiency requirements as well as means for complying with these requirements and for achieving reduced energy per bit/second processed and transported are discussed, and example figures given.
