An ultra-wideband reconfigurable bowtie antenna is proposed for Wi-Fi applications, specifically at 4.9 GHz band. The functional frequency range of the proposed antenna is from 4.5 GHz to 9.75 GHz including 12 GHz frequency band. The proposed antenna design is loaded with three metallic strips and one rotating slot on each side of the bowtie antenna. The rotating slots on the antenna are controlled using FPGA in order to obtain wider operational frequency range. The metallic strips on the antenna have fixed vertical dimensions but vary in width by the same amount while the rotating slots have fixed dimensions. The antenna can operate at Wi-Fi 4.9 GHz frequency band and that will be shown by the return losses, radiation patterns, and other antenna parameters that will be obtained using HFSS simulation. Moreover, the VHDL code for the rotation control of the slots will be demonstrated and implemented using prototyping FPGA Zed-Board from Xilinx. The resultant waveform will be shown.
