Selection and Evaluation of Best Management Practices for Highway Runoff Management

Environmental contaminants originating from highway drainage could pose potential impact to thereceiving water quality. Under the mandate of regulatory stormwater permits, States are required toimplement best management practices (BMPs) in order to reduce the impacts of highway runoff onsurface water quality. This paper provides technical guidance and recommendations pertaining to theselection and evaluation of BMP performance for the transportation industry.
