Bibliometric Characteristics of Political Science Research in Germany

摘要

This study investigates the publication, citation, andreference characteristics of items in political science withspecial attention to journal articles. By analyzing thecomplete 2003-2007 publication list of two top-rankingdepartments of political science in Germany, this studyexplores the publication behavior of German politicalscientists and also analyzes their citation and referencecharacteristics. According to the results of the study, wewill be able to provide important knowledge to the processof evaluating research performance in such a local languageoriented subfield in the social sciences.
