摘要

In the present investigation, experiments wereconducted using a pin-on-disk apparatus to study thetribological performance of various green liquidlubricants. More specifically, various green liquidlubricants, such as: avocado, canola (rapeseed), corn,olive, peanut, safflower, sesame, and vegetable oilare considered. In addition, tribological performancewas also investigated by the addition of various sizesand combinations of green solid powder additives inthe green liquid lubricants. It was found that theavocado oil showed the best friction and wearperformance when compared to other greenlubricants. Further, the nano sized additives in greenliquid lubricants showed the best tribologicalperformance when compared to micron, sub-micronsized, and their combinations in green liquidlubricants. The possible mechanisms governing lowfriction and wear are summarized.
