FURTHER UTILIZATION OF THE ISS RUSSIAN SEGMENT: RESEARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND PLANS FOR THE NEXT DECADE

The process of construction of the Russian Segment of the International Space Station (ISS RS) is stillcontinuing. A key feature of this process is a consecutive spreading of the exchangeable payloads methoddirected towards efficient utilization of research facilities installed on the ISS RS modules. The method is basedon a concept of the multipurpose workstations. Advanced multipurpose workstations and payloads racks will beused on new ISS Russian modules. This paper analyses technical and research accomplishment achieved ondifferent generations of the ISS RS modules, and unveils plans of further segment utilization for the next decade.
