摘要

The use of two freely available remotely sensed data sources are considered in relation to surface water monitoring and land use assessment in Bangladesh. MODIS time series data is used to investigate surface water patterns while Landsat ETM+ data is used to produce a land use mafor central Bangladesh using fuzzy classification. The strengths and weaknesses of the data sources and classification procedures are discussed here as part of a wider project investigating spatial issues for aquaculture production in relation to current conditions as well as changing environmental and climate scenarios. Further development of classified images is also considered.
