We utilize graded index structure and distributed Bragg reflector of a-Si to simulate enhanced light –absorption in thin film crystalline silicon solar cells. The antireflective/high-reflective (AR/HR) structures based onoblique angle deposition of a-Si act as both low loss window and back reflector of the thin film solar cell structure.The graded index structure and distributed Bragg reflector are optimized to obtain maximum absorption with highestcell efficiency. The simulation predicts significantly enhanced photon absorption between whole solar spectral rangeand the highest cell efficiency was about 12% of 2 μm absorber layer. The optical simulation is performed with arigorous coupled wave analysis.
