The increasing penetration of photovoltaic generators in parallel to the grid and the day by daydecreasing incentives for these types of installations require a more detailed analysis about the convenience of aninvestment on PV installation.In particular the building integrated photovoltaic solutions (BIPV) can be, for significant part of the time, affectedby shadows caused by the presence of other buildings in the proximity or poles, dormers etc. in the roof.In this paper, various shadow’s conditions with several irradiation intensity affecting the modules are consideredand the related I-V curves are displayed with real measurements. Then a simulated model is derived whichmatchs the results achieved experimentally. For some of the shadow conditions, we will demonstrate withsimulation as well as with real experiments the efficacy, on some cases, of the introduction of microinvertersinstalled on the modules versus one string inverter for the whole string.
