FUTURE CHALLENGES FOR ELECTRONIC PERFORMANCE SUPPORT SYSTEMS TO FACILITATE LIFELONG LEARNING OF BOTH DIGITAL NATIVE AND DIGITAL IMMIGRANT ADULTS IN THE SAME WORK SETTINGS

In this paper the need for providing educational opportunities for working adult populations is stated in terms of economic factors. The learner profiles in the contemporary world regarding technological literacy abilities are also demonstrated. In light of current learner profiles and economic structures, the use of Human Performance Technology (HPT) and one of its tools, Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS), are discussed to provide lifelong learning and training facilities for adults who cannot be achieved with traditional educational models. The paper concludes by addressing future challenges and visions in the design of EPSSs to secure continuous performance of adults in work and organizational societies.
