Livestock manure conversion technology to replace composting is currently needed in Japan.Supercritical water gasification (SCWG) is a potential new technology in the field of livestock manure management.SCWG can quickly and efficiently convert organic materials and phosphorus in the livestock manure into fuel gasesand phosphate compound, respectively. In this paper, we propose an SCWG system that is energetically independentand in which phosphate compound is produced from livestock manure. The system is evaluated from an energyperspective. An energetically independent process is achieved when the gasification efficiencies of SGWG forpoultry manure, swine manure, and cattle manure are over 0.83, 0.64, and 0.68, respectively.
