The FRAME Forum - supporting the FRAME Architecture

The European ITS Framework Architecture was first published in November 2000 and throughthe work of the FRAME Projects has become known as the FRAME Architecture. It is a toolfor use during the early part of the implementation of an ITS scheme and enables easilyunderstood models of the integrated ITS implementation to be created. These are used as partof an interaction with the ITS stakeholders to ensure that they are “signed up” to an agreedimplementation programme found from analysing the different models. Using the FRAMEArchitecture provides several other benefits, including a more certain ability to ensure that theselected implementation model gives stakeholders the optimal solution. The evidence gainedso far shows that users have realised some demonstrable benefits from using the Architecture.The FRAME Forum has been re-launched to support and maintain the Architecture in the future.It is recruiting new members and planning the work needed to ensure the Architecture continuesto be relevant for future ITS implementations and stakeholder requirements.
