Pilot site in Trondheim: Building user applications through EU-projects

摘要

This paper describes the feasibilities of the pilot site in Trondheim,Norway. Our intention for building up a strong basis for added functionality is arealisation of the fact that we cannot only rely on standard ITS solutions if we are toaddress the tasks needed to impact modal split of travels made in Trondheim. Byparticipating in European projects we can attract test applications and thereby getexperience with innovative solutions that may be utilised to obtain our goals.Trondheim has a strong focus on environmental issues and traffic growth shouldtherefore be as green as possible. The policy is to limit the car share towards the citycentre and focus on walking, cycling and public transport. The paper aims at sharinginformation about both our pilot as well as about our pursuit of innovativeapplications.
